Noida- In a recent incident, the BSP regime has unearthed another land scam worth Rs. 3800 crore as the former government had leased out about three lakh 81 thousand ?sq meter land illegally to various private companies and their favorite buyers.
The scam came into notice and an?inquiry?was started in June with the new regime in place.
Owing to the land scam, the authorities have evicted the Nayab?Tehsildar from his post followed by a suspension of a PCS officer from the?additional district magistrate (land) in Noida by the authority CEO. However, the authority is also in a verge to lodge an FIR against the suspected officers.
As per the authorities, the scam was performed in the year 2011 and came into light through inquiries by the Noida authority. The scam involved a?three top Noida authority officials out of which were a?PCS officer Harish Chandar (Secretary),?Ajay Shrivastav (Tahsildar) and Manoj Kumar Singh (Nayab Tahsildar). These three higher officials have illegally allotted about?3, 81, 527 square meters of developed prime land along Expressway, in sector- 140A, 141, 142 and 143 to their set of favorite individuals and three private companies who were all violating the norms.
The higher officials involved in the scam, Manoj Kumar Singh and?Ajay Shrivastava?have been evicted from their post with?PCS officer, Harish Chander (current additional district magistrate in Gautam Budh Nagar district)?on a verge to be suspended by the?Noida authority chief executive officer Sanjeev Saran. The authority CEO requested the?UP chief secretary Rajeev Kumar to suspend Harish Chander as he was the key officer for illegally?allotting?the enormous land. The land was allotted by the officers at marginal rates of Rs. 11,000 per square?meter?despite the prevailing market rates of?Rs 1 lakh per square meter.
The favorites of the authorities included a set of ineligible individuals and three private companies who were granted properties in Noida under the pretext of?regularizing?Abadi land dispute among farmers in Sehadra village ?alongside the expressway. Nevertheless, the Noida authority can lease back the land to the particular villager if he/she owns the same land which has been involved under the?case of Abadi land?regularization. The?deputy chief executive officer (DCEO),Vijay Kumar Yadav,?Noida authority quoted that officials of such a higher post had?guilelessly violated the norms by leasing back the land to ineligible people and private companies.
The illegal land allotment was done by the officials on a pretext of granting land to the villagers in 2011 to maintain peace and harmony in the region. The UP government was misguided with the above reason and instead the officials allotted the farmer?s abadi land of?Shahdra village in sector 140A, 141, 142, and 143 to the private companies and their?favoured?individuals.
Not just the government, but a?high level committee headed by the DM and the SSP exclusively handling the?Abadi land issues was also fooled by the officials ?without revealing ?complete details of the scammed land.
